SlotConfig

Methodology

SlotConfig’s data comes down to one record repeated many times: a game, a casino, the RTP that casino shows for it, the RTP the provider publishes, the bet range, and the date. This page explains how each part of that record is gathered and what it can and cannot tell you.

What we record

  • Game and provider, by exact title, as the casino lists it.
  • Casino, named with its province where the site is provincial, for example “bet365 (Ontario)”.
  • RTP shown by the casino, from the place the casino publishes it: a game page, a lobby info panel or the game’s rules screen.
  • Provider’s published RTP, from the provider’s own game page.
  • Bet range, the minimum and maximum total stake per spin shown by the casino.
  • Availability, whether a search of the casino’s public lobby for the exact title returned it.
  • Date, the day the record was made.

Where the figures come from

  1. Regulators’ rules. In Ontario, the AGCO’s Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming require game rules or help pages to give the return to player before a bet, require every game and random number generator to be approved or certified before it is offered, and set rules on slot pace and win displays. We cite them where they explain a figure.
  2. The casino’s own pages: public game pages, lobby panels and search results.
  3. The provider’s own game pages, for the published RTP and game features.
  4. News or announcements, only for context. A provider announcing a partnership with a casino does not tell us which games are in that casino’s lobby, so we never use an announcement as evidence of availability.

Which casinos and games we check

OLG.ca publishes a page for each slot with its RTP and bet range, so we collected all of its public slot pages, 289 of them on October 19, 2026. For other casinos we check a fixed set of widely played titles, chosen because several casinos carry them, at operators in iGaming Ontario’s directory whose lobbies can be searched without logging in, and at brands marketed to players in Canada whose lobbies are public. Choosing the same titles everywhere is what makes a comparison possible.

How we read the pages

We read lobbies and game pages without logging in, from Canadian connections; Ontario lobbies from an Ontario connection. We do not play for real money or demo, and we do not record in-game screens that open only after login. When a casino shows an RTP range rather than one number, we record the range as shown.

What a figure means

An RTP is a long-run average over a very large number of spins. We use it to show the expected cost of play, with the calculation on the page, for example C$4 per C$100 wagered at 96%. We never use it to predict a session, and we do not publish volatility labels unless the casino or provider shows them.

What “Not confirmed” means

Not confirmed means the figure was not visible on a public page on the date in the row, for example an RTP that appears only inside the game after login. It is a statement about our evidence, not about the casino or the game.

Arithmetic

Where a page works out a cost per hour, a number of ways or the price of a bought feature, it shows the formula and the inputs. Inputs that are illustrations rather than published figures are labelled as such.

The featured casino lists, the header button and the bottom bar are advertising for casinos that pay us commission. Which casinos they show, and in what order, depends on commercial arrangements and on the country of the reader’s connection, not on any RTP or bet range we record. A featured casino’s games are checked like any other’s. A welcome offer in a list is shown as our affiliate partner listed it, with the date.

Dates and changes

Casinos change game versions, and lobbies add and remove titles. Each row carries the date it was checked, and pages say when a figure was read on more than one day.

Corrections

If an RTP, bet range or availability has changed, send the page address, the game, the casino and a link or screenshot description of where the casino shows it, through our contact page. We check it against the casino’s public page, correct the row if needed and update its date. See also our editorial policy.
